John McCain just said his running mate Sarah Palin is “a role model for women.” Could this be more condescending? As if we’re just scratching around, desperate for somebody to look up to, and she’s the only available candidate?
Guess what, girls! You can be Vice President someday too! Gee, thanks John McCain.

EW! I thought the same thing - of course he doesn't mean queer women, because self-hate is never cool.

He's not the only one. There was a National Post article a while ago that said something along the lines that Palin is what women would have become if the feminist movement hadn't scuppered our evolution - strong, family-oriented, unconflicted role-models. I suppose I should blog angrily about it, but I'd rather just shoot wolves from my helicopter, honestly.
